New IP PIN mailer format

Some taxpayers will see a change in the look of their Individual Protection (IP) PIN mailer in 2024. The IRS is piloting a security self-mailer for Notice CP01A, We Assigned You an Identity Protection Personal Identification Number. The security self-mailer has perforated borders that recipients remove to open the mailer. Some notices will also include a survey to help the IRS determine the effectiveness of the pilot. The new mailer will go to about 70% of taxpayers who receive IP PINs. There is no change to procedures for using an IP PIN.
